A 36-year-old man from Vienna has left his traditional job behind to collect recyclable materials, a decision that, according to him, has changed his life for the better, as he explains to “antena3.ro”. Although it seemed like a risky option at first, he says he has found a new way of life, earning up to 200 euros a day.

The 36-year-old man, whose identity remains anonymous, explains that what surprises him most about his new lifestyle is the freedom and satisfaction he feels. ‘For two months, I rode my scooter every day for 12 hours, but now I just collect bottles on foot,’ he tells the same media outlet.

What initially seemed like a risky decision has ended up improving his quality of life, allowing him to live more peacefully and without the stress of work. In addition, with more flexible hours, he now has time to enjoy other activities he is passionate about. ‘Now I eat at a restaurant every day,’ he said.

According to the man, his daily routine includes walking the streets of Vienna looking for recyclable materials, which he delivers to recycling centres that pay him for every kilo collected. Regarding competition, although he acknowledges that it is increasing, he says that ‘you can still make good money, but it’s not like in January, because now there are more people on the streets’ and that even so, he is happy with his new life.
