Hand washing is an essential habit for daily hygiene, and there are several ways to do it with natural ingredients to improve appearance. One of the most popular methods is using oats and honey.
This method, recommended by experts, is not only easy to do, but also offers multiple benefits.
Benefits of washing your hands with oats and honey
- Deep hydration: honey is a natural moisturiser that retains moisture and prevents hands from drying out or cracking, especially in cold weather or with frequent use of hand sanitiser.
- Soothing properties: Oats have a calming and anti-inflammatory effect, ideal for sensitive or irritated skin. They relieve itching, redness and discomfort caused by dryness.
- Gentle and natural cleansing: both ingredients act as gentle cleansers. Oats absorb excess oil and remove impurities without drying, while honey has antibacterial properties that contribute to deeper cleansing.
- Light exfoliation: ground oats work as a natural exfoliant that removes dead skin cells and leaves skin softer and looking better.
How to use oats and honey to wash your hands properly
- In a small bowl, place one tablespoon of ground oats and one tablespoon of pure honey. Mix until you obtain a smooth paste.
- Lightly moisten your hands with warm water. Place the mixture on your palms and rub gently for 1 to 2 minutes, massaging between your fingers and the back of your hands.
- Rinse with warm water until all traces of the mixture are removed. Dry with a soft towel, without rubbing too much to avoid irritating the skin.
- You can apply a moisturising cream to enhance the effects and keep your hands soft for longer.
How often can it be done?
This oatmeal and honey wash can be done 2 or 3 times a week, depending on the dryness of your skin. It is not recommended to do it daily if your skin is very oily, but it is ideal for dry or sensitive hands.
